Take a stroll in the breathtaking forest paths in Changdeokgung Palace on a warm spring day. Awakening the Morning Palace is a walking tour program enjoyed with the morning scenery.

 

Stroll along the path of the king and queen of Joseon. Their spring stroll course is a special course opened only for this tour. Come along and enjoy the stories about Changdeokgung Palace.

Tinged with colors of scholar tree, apricot and plum blossoms, see you at the beautiful Changdeokgung Palace.

 

< Prologue>

 

Morning dawned on Changdeokgung Palace. The king and queen will enjoy a stroll at Changdeokgung Palace for the spring scenery.

The pair prepares for the spring walk from the early hours.

 

The king and queen heads to the most beautiful places for this season in the palace: Seongjeonggak Pavilion and Nakseonjae Hall’s hwagye (flower terrace), before heading into his majesty’s rear garden.

 

The king and queen are greeted by the shimmer of the pond reflects the spring sunshine and the supple—and slightly greener—young leaves.

 

Follow along the king and queen’s spring stroll in celebration of the 2024 K-Royal Culture Festival.

Author of <How to Walk in Palaces>, cultural heritage education expert.

Lee conducts the program “Time on Palace Walks,” which is a walking program in the five major palaces that refreshes a theme each month. Take an imagination dive into the spring days of Joseon that the king and queen would have enjoyed together and follow along his guide into the spring scenery in Changdeokgung Palace.

Seo embodies the colors of spring and her love for nature in her illustrative works.

<Admission Information>

- Time: 07:30 - 08:00 am

- Location: Information Center, Donhwamun, Changdeokgung Palace

- To verify reservation, please bring an identification document. (Resident registration card, driver's license, passport, ID reissuance application form, or alien registration card)

* Admission tickets can be transferred to immediate family members and siblings only with the submission of supporting documents, such as the family register, and family relationship certificate.

(Transfer to non-family members is not allowed)

- For programs that require reservation, being 10 minutes late will be considered a no-show and participant must sign-up on site.

- Number of Tickets: Maximum 2 per person

- Ticket Price: 10,000 won

 

<Important Notices>

- The program ticket does not include general admission ticket to Changdeokgung Palace. (Single-entry for Donhwamun Gate only)

- If rainfall of 5 mm or more is forecasted on the day of by the Korea Meteorological Administration, the program may be canceled. (Individual purchasers will be notified.)

- All areas inside the palace are NON-smoking

- Food, flammable materials, and play equipment are restricted for entry as the palace is part of protected area for cultural heritage.
