(ENG)2024 K-Royal Culture Festival & the 10th Anniversary Slogan Contest
The Royal Palaces and Tombs Center of the Cultural Heritage Administration and the Korea Cultural Heritage Foundation will be hosting the “K-Royal Culture Festival 10th Anniversary Slogan Contest” to commemorate the 10th anniversary of the K-Royal Culture Festival. We kindly ask for your attention and participation.
□ Contest Overview
A. Contest name: K-Royal Culture Festival 10th Anniversary Slogan Contest
B. Eligibility: All Korean nationals and foreigners residing in Korea interested in the K-Royal Culture Festival
※ As of the announcement date (November 17, 2023), participants under the age of 19 must upload the parental consent form for minors’ entry (attached).
C. Contest theme: A slogan that can creatively and effectively represent the content of each category.

A slogan expressing aspiration for the K-Royal Culture Festival, the cultural heritage festival that represents Korea, to become a globally beloved event
※ Slogans can be submitted in either Korean or English, with a maximum of 2 slogans per language for each category (a total of 8 slogans per person at most, with 4 in Korean and 4 in English)
-Korean slogans: Up to 20 characters (including spaces and punctuation. Prioritize the use of pure Korean words in Hangul)
-English slogans: Up to 15 words (including spaces and punctuation)

-Submission: November 17, 2023 (Fri) - January 7, 2024 (Sun)
-Evaluation: January 9, 2024 (Tue) - January 16, 2024 (Tue) (1 week)
-Announcement: January 19, 2024 (Fri)

A. Evaluation method: Entries are judged by a panel of 5 internal and external experts.
B. Evaluation criteria
-Theme (30%): Understanding of the K-Royal Culture Festival project and the delivery of the creative vision
-Creativity (30%): Level of creativity as an outstanding slogan
-Practicality (20%): Usefulness of the slogan for further designs
-Adaptability (20%): Ease of memorization and pronunciation

□ Important Notices
○Award winners may own the copyright to the award-winning works. However, the organizers may use the winning work through reproduction and transmission within the necessary limits to achieve the purpose and spirit of the contest, and they may be partially or entirely utilized for promotional purposes by the organizers.
○The organizers have the right to utilize (and if necessary, modify) the award-winning works as secondary works, and the period for such utilization is not separately determined but extends until the purpose of utilizing the award-winning work is fulfilled.
○Slogans submitted must be the participant’s original creation, as any legal issues arising from disputes related to portrait rights, copyrights, defamation, etc., are the responsibility of the winners. If disputes due to infringement were to occur, award for a winning work may be evoked and the prize money will be reclaimed, even if such disputes were to be discovered after prizes have been announced.
○If it is determined through evaluation that there are no winning works, a winner may not be chosen, and the number of awardees may be adjusted based on the quality of the entries.
○Participants must truthfully provide all necessary information for entry. By agreeing to the terms and conditions regarding personal information and copyrights, participant certifies that they have thoroughly understood and agreed to the guidelines.
○Any issues arising from misunderstanding the Important Notices or the Announcement are the responsibility of the participant.
○As of the announcement date (November 17, 2023), participants under the age of 19 are required to submit the parental consent form for minors’ entry to contest.
○Details of the evaluation process are not disclosed. By entering the contest, participant agrees to the composition of the evaluation panel, evaluation criteria, and subsequent results.
